The grey skies started to clear today and I could actually hear birds singing this morning, so in the afternoon just before sunset, I decided to take a bike ride to the castle venue to see if I still felt the same way about it.
Approaching the venue, I cycled past a canal with some ducks. There's also a bridge in the background.
Here are the back gates to the grounds of the castle.
This is a wing to the castle. Okay, at this point I really start to remember why I loved the venue.

As you can see, even though the castle, is quite the tourist attraction, this spot is secluded as it is tucked away behind trees and not many people know about it.
In summer, this passageway of trees will be just gorgeous for couple photos.
As any good event manager... I mean we pretty much are one as a bride, looks for finer detail as to where the ceremony could take place, if there is electricity, and also what sort of furniture we're dealing with. Sometimes these small questions can take forever for the venue to answer so it's best we tick them off if we are onsite.
As the castle is not allowing us to walk on the grass areas at all, our ceremony could possibly take place on one of these rocky paths.
In the Summer, the garden will be in full bloom. We are also considering hosting a ceremony in the room where we will have lunch. In this case, we would have the tables running alongside the two sides of the room, with an aisle like gap between the two sides.
I took a sticky beak inside the storage room to see what sort of tables and chairs I'd be dealing with. The tables have a nice rustic look. The chairs aren't my first choice but they will be fine as there won't be as much emphasis on them as the room is so beautiful. It's always a good idea to take pictures when you do a venue visit as there may be things that you forget or don't notice. For instance, I just noticed that they have in the corner, very long extension cord, so I won't need to organise that. Thumbs up!

Okay, at this point I am pretty sold and am determined to make it possible for us to use this venue. We just need to make the guestlist as intimate as possible for the venue's 60 guest limit. That should be possible, right?! Well, I'll let you know what the outcome is.
